What We Collect
AccentForge collects only what is necessary to provide the coaching service.
Device identifier
A random UUID is generated on your device the first time you launch the app and stored locally. This identifier is used to track your session history and usage limits. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information. You can reset it by deleting and reinstalling the app.
Voice audio
Your microphone audio is streamed in real time to our coaching service during active sessions. Audio is processed to provide accent coaching and is not stored on our servers. Transcripts of the coach’s spoken responses may be temporarily displayed in the app and are discarded when the session ends.
Session data
We store the following per session:
- Session start and end time
- Session duration (in minutes)
- Accent score (1–10 scale)
- Brief coaching feedback snippet (up to 200 characters)
- Exercise recommendations provided during the session
- How the session ended (you stopped, time limit reached, or connection issue)
- Whether the session included real coaching (used for service quality measurement)
- Your app version (used to diagnose issues)
Native language (optional)
If you choose to share your native language during onboarding, it is stored to provide personalised coaching. This is optional. You can select “Prefer not to say.”
Usage statistics
We store how many coaching minutes you have used in the current week (free plan) or month (paid plan) to enforce subscription limits.
What We Do Not Collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- Your location
- Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA)
- Third-party login credentials
- Any data from other apps on your device
- Crash reports or analytics through third-party SDKs
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Provide real-time accent coaching during sessions
- Display your session history and progress within the app
- Enforce weekly or monthly coaching minute limits based on your plan
- Improve service reliability (using aggregated, non-identifiable statistics)
We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties except as described below.
Third-Party Services
AccentForge uses the following third-party services to operate:

All audio is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/DTLS). LiveKit and xAI process audio transiently for the purpose of generating coaching responses; they do not retain your audio after the session ends.
Data Retention
Session records (scores, feedback snippets, durations) are retained for up to 90 days to power your in-app history. After 90 days, session records are automatically deleted. Your device identifier and usage counters are retained for as long as your account exists.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. We will delete your device identifier and all associated session records within 14 days.
Children’s Privacy
AccentForge is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has used the app and provided data, please contact us for immediate deletion.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where required by law, notify you through the app.
